The brief
The archive had scans but no way to browse them beyond a search box.
The site
A slow, quiet interface: one print at a time, a strip of neighbours by date, and a map of the coast that filters as you scroll.
Outcome
Volunteers now add captions directly on the site, and the archive uses it at events on a single screen.
